Angela Ramakis

Manager, Entertainment Artistic Integrity | Royal Caribbean International

Angela Ramakis, Sr. Manager of entertainment artistic integrity, has been with Royal Caribbean Group since 2006. Leadership has been a key part of Angela’s role with the company, beginning when she was a performer onboard while holding various positions like Dance Captain and Aerial Coordinator, and later becoming a Rehearsal Choreographer and Director teaching or installing more than 35 different production shows in our fleet.

Now, her focus is on the quality and maintenance of our shows and how they’re presented across our brand. Angela’s continuous work with cast leadership teams and technical leadership onboard has helped the company’s success and growth in her most recent three years here.

Developing innovative ideas is a priority for the entertainment team. “I get to encourage and contribute to the development of innovative ideas. When our entertainment product is presented on our ships to our guests, we challenge our performers and technicians, and everybody who upholds that product, to maintain 100% artistic integrity,” she said. “Sometimes, that doesn’t unfold the way we want it to. In live theater, there can be technical challenges, illnesses or weather factors coming into play [with our Aqua Shows]. I work closely with our onboard entertainment leadership to create modified contingency shows so that we can still present our products to our guests in any circumstance. During what could be chaos, we stay focused on ideas and solutions.”

For our Propelled by People: Our Stories photo series, captured by photographer Steve McCurry, we asked Angela what she hoped people would gain from these photos. “I hope that people see how each of our teams and departments contribute to the visionary achievements of the company. [I hope] employees continue inspiring and celebrating one another’s innovative ideas as the future of our company grows larger.”
