Preston Carnahan’s career path at Royal Caribbean Group helps us see that opportunities for growth are abundant and that the building blocks of success are the skills and relationships you take with you along the journey.  

He capitalized on years of shipboard experience to liaise between the ships and Shoreside Marine Operations as a Port Captain for Royal Caribbean International. He’s confident that the most impactful career decision he made was to transition from an operations role to a more strategic position in the Destination Development team.  

Preston’s leap from shipboard and shoreside is feasible in a company of this size and global footprint. “A company the size of Royal Caribbean Group can offer everyone something because we’re big enough that there’s always new jobs being created, there’s always new departments, there’s always needs for a skill set that’s transferred into a new department or area,” Preston states enthusiastically.   

In his current role as AVP Business & Destination Development, Preston ensures our ships and guests can continue going to the most coveted destinations in the world to create unforgettable experiences. That’s the great thing about Royal Caribbean Group – they make sure their employees create unforgettable experiences with their loved ones.  

Preston keeps a core memory close of him showing his grandmother around a ship on a vacation with many of his family as his nieces and nephews would run all around them. Our promise to deliver unforgettable memories applies to both guests and our people.
