Ops Driver – Perfect Day at CocoCay
He was working as a mechanic in his hometown of Nassau when Harriss Gibson decided it was time to take a chance on himself and try something new.
“I wanted a change of scenery,” he said. “It was time to get away from home, gain independence, and experience the world.”
Where better to do that than on Perfect Day at Coco Cay?
He started his career with Royal Caribbean Group as a kitchen attendant at our private destination in 2022 before transitioning from Food & Beverage to the Island Experience Team a few months later. Now, he transports guests around the island, from Hideaway Beach and Chill Island to Oasis Lagoon and everywhere in between.
“I really like this job because it provides a great opportunity to learn about people and their cultures while sharing some of the beautiful Bahamas with them,” he said.
After meeting some of his incredible colleagues, he quickly realized he was in the right place amid the excitement of the island. Now, with a new, stronger confidence, he is always on the lookout for opportunities to lend a hand and learn more about every aspect of industry. It’s that initiative that has helped him become an integral part of the team at the forefront of creating unforgettable experiences for our guests.
“I hope people see me as a motivated young man pursuing his dreams and fighting to be a better person every day,” he said.
