Assistant Repairman, Hotel Maintenance | Allure of the Seas
Julito Laboguen has been a proud employee of Royal Caribbean Group since 2003. Beginning as a deck repairman, Julito has worked his way up through the company to become the Assistant Repairman for Hotel Maintenance onboard Allure of the Seas.
Julito and his team overlook the repairs onboard the ship, from stem-to-stern plumbing, automatic door repairs, fabrication and so much more. “We maintain the ship and keep it running,” Julito said.
As a proud employee of Royal Caribbean Group, Julito was more than happy to share how he feels towards the company. “I’m proud to work for Royal Caribbean Group. The company culture is great. They respect their crew and employees, and they provide us with everything we need, from benefits to medical,” Julito shared, “and the Company develops our knowledge and skills. They’re helpful to us, the crew. Royal Caribbean Group is the best there is.”
While working onboard, away from family and friends, the crew find ways to stay happy and care for one another. For Julito, Elvis Presley has been the one to keep him connected to home. “I admire Elvis Presley. He influenced my father, who loved his songs. I found that I could sing, so I would sing karaoke and always have an Elvis Presley song to sing,” Julito said with a laugh. “Elvis is an icon. When I’m singing and dancing like Elvis, it gives me energy, like a spirit coming into my body.” Julito is always involved in crew talent shows and has even won “Best Performance” while onboard Navigator of the Seas.
Royal Caribbean Group gives employees the skills to develop in their careers, as well as skills to develop in life. For Julito, working (and singing!) for Royal Caribbean Group has been a blessing.
